BED-HEAD ROTATING SYSTEM.


Your needs will be satisfied by this revolutionary bed with double fuction. We have all dreamed about sleeping and working in the same place.... With this well-design bed you are able to accomplish your dream. The mechanism works very easy. It is basically a rotating system that allows the bed-head transform into a working table where we can draw, put a cup of tea, put the laptop on, etc.

Magic becomes reality! All you have to do is open this small legs from the sides of your bed, put the table on and start to work. This big space that DR design created gives the user the possibility to sleep and work in the same place. It also serves as a big tray if you want to eat here. You have special surfaces for different functions. (computer and drawing table) It is light, easy to use and comfortable.

AN ARTIFACT THAT SOLVES THE PROBLEM OF WORKING IN BED IN AN ORGANIZED WAY.

  • Have a place that serves as organizer
  • Have a place to sleep comfortably
  • Have a working place. (where it is possible to put staff on, to draw, to have a computer in a safe way, papers and books)
  • Have an easy method of cleaning.

concept modifications from week#4

Building details:
  • The table can be made in aluminiun or in a strong kind of pastic. This two materials are easy to clean and light.
  • The legs can be made in aluminium or wood.
  • The table has a special surface to put the laptop on. This surface stays cool so that the temperature of the laptop mantains ok and this surface also helps the laptop to stay in place and don't fall. The material is a combination of a gel that remains cool and neopren.
  • The table has a special surface to draw. It has the perfect size and texture to put papers on and draw without imperfections. This surface is made of a special shinny plastic that does not scratch.

PROS
  • It is a good artifact for people that does not have much space
  • It is a good artifact for people that enjoys working in one place
  • It is a good artifact for all ages because of its easy mechanism and light materials
  • It is a good artifact for a bed-room
  • It is a good artifact to innovate in beds-design.
  • This artifact has a two MAIN functions: SLEEP AND WORK.
  • This artifact understand the needs of this decade people. Work and study became much more important and relevant in people's life comparing from other decades but also it became more stressing so it's important for people to work in a place that they are comfortable and that place is usually OUR BED!
  • This artifact has some other good functions that were not contemplated when doing the design process.
  1. It is a good artifact for people who like eating while watching a movie in bed
  2. It is a good artifact for changing baby's nappy without risk of having the bed dirty.
  3. It is a good artifact for doing your manies on bed.
  4. It is a good artifact for having a romantic dinner at bedroom.
  5. It is a good artifact to use with more than one person.

CONS:
  • It can only be put on a bed room
  • It can be somewhat disturbing to put on and off the mechanism
  • It can be a little expensive at stores because of all the accesories it has.
  • It can make you more sedentarian.
